75th Anniversary Events in March

Posted by The Ramblers on 21/02/2010

March is the month traditionally named for Mars, the Roman god of war and before the Gregorian calendar was adopted, it used to be the official start of the year. It certainly has the cheering feel of spring and despite the fact that we can still expect snow showers, most people take delight from the appearance of daffodils, iris, hyacinth, tulips, and a hint of the blankets of bluebells to come.

There are also lots of exciting events occuring in March to celebrate the Ramblers 75th anniversary including a Cawl Walk in Carmarthenshire on 3rd March (a walk and a tasty broth), the start of 16 walks in beautiful Berkshire and many other walks over Britain - see here for more: www.ramblers75.org.uk/baton-walks/.
